Heatwave Grips Bihar
The weather in Bihar has taken a turn once again, with residents eagerly awaiting the monsoon while being surprised by intense heat. On June 8th, a heatwave was recorded in 15 districts of Bihar, with temperatures exceeding 40°C in 18 districts. The scorching heat and high humidity are causing distress to the people of Bihar, with the possibility of more intense heatwaves until the arrival of the monsoon, according to experts.
Orange and Yellow Alerts Issued
On June 9th, severe heatwaves are expected in Bhojpur, Buxar, Bhabua, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Jamui, Banka, and Bhagalpur, with temperatures ranging between 42°C to 44°C and hot, gusty winds. Orange alerts have been issued in these 9 districts, while yellow alerts have been issued in the remaining districts where hot days and warm nights are forecasted. The arrival of the monsoon in Bihar is still awaited, with the southwest monsoon expected to arrive shortly.
Monsoon Update and Record-Breaking Heat
As the wait for the monsoon continues, signs of its arrival include low-level clouds resembling cotton wool floating in the sky. Once these clouds are spotted, it indicates the onset of the monsoon. On June 8th, Bihar experienced intense heat, with several districts recording record-breaking temperatures above 40°C. The highest temperature recorded was 45.3°C in Buxar, with other districts like Aurangabad, Arwal, Vaishali, Dehri, and Bhojpur also experiencing extreme heat.
