Heatwave Grips North, East, and West India

North, East, and West India are currently reeling under a severe heatwave. The impact of the cyclonic storm ‘Remal’ has also led to heatwave-like conditions in Odisha. People in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh are also feeling the heat, while severe heatwave alerts have been issued in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi NCR.

Relief in Some Areas, But Heatwave Continues

Although parts of Delhi NCR received some relief on Wednesday evening with rain and strong winds, the weather turned severe again on Thursday morning. In Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, the heat has broken all records, with May 29th being the hottest day in the last 127 years. Bihar is also experiencing extreme heat, while Odisha is facing tough conditions due to the heat.

IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall in South India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall in many states of South India. This prediction brings hope for relief from the scorching heatwave in the southern regions. The situation remains critical in various parts of the country, with authorities urging people to take necessary precautions to stay safe during this extreme weather.
