Report: Failed Attempt to Disrupt Communal Harmony in Aurangabad
The attempt to disrupt communal harmony by anti-social elements in Aurangabad, Bihar has once again been unsuccessful. The administration and the intelligence of the villagers managed to calm the situation. It all started when some anti-social elements threw pieces of banned meat in a goddess temple in Kazi Bigaha, located in the Haspura police station area, which led to tension between two communities and angered the locals.
The villagers blocked the Haspura-Mehandia road near the petrol pump and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits, protesting against the police administration. As soon as the administration got wind of this, a large number of police forces were deployed there. The SDPO, CO, and SHO of Daundanagar made efforts to calm the agitated crowd and eventually brought peace to the area. The CO, Shobha Kumari, personally cleaned the temple, removed the pieces of banned meat, and washed the temple, which finally resolved the matter.
However, the anger of the culprits remained intact regarding their arrest. DM Shrikant Shastri and SP Swapna G. Meshram also arrived at the scene to assess the seriousness of the situation. Later, the SP informed that the FSL team has also conducted an investigation at the crime scene. The police are also examining the CCTV footage. They appealed to the people to maintain peace and also requested assistance in arresting the culprits.
They assured that the culprits will be identified and appropriate legal action will be taken against them. Currently, they have stated that the situation is under control. It should be noted that the Aurangabad police has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for providing accurate information about those involved in such wrongful acts. The identity of the informants will be kept confidential.
