Accident in Madhepura: Youth killed, woman and child injured in truck-bike collision
On Friday, a young man died in a collision between a truck and a bike on NH-107 between Commerce College and Ganesh Sthan in the Madhepura Sadar Thana area. A woman and a child were seriously injured. The deceased was identified as Ranjan Kumar Mandal (28), son of Sukumar Mandal from Ward-1. After the incident, the truck driver fled the scene. Relatives stated that Ranjan Mandal, along with his mother Kaushalya Devi, was taking his daughter Sandhya Kumari for treatment in Madhepura when the accident occurred.
One dead, two injured in the accident
Local residents rushed the three injured to Madhepura Sadar Hospital, where Ranjan Kumar Mandal succumbed to his injuries during treatment. His mother’s condition was critical, and she was referred to JNKT Medical College Hospital. The woman and child are currently undergoing treatment at the medical college.
Family devastated by the loss
Ranjan Mandal, who got married two years ago, worked as a laborer to support his family. His sudden demise has left his wife and other relatives in a state of shock. The head of Bhan Tekthi, Vikas Kumar, mentioned that both injured individuals have been referred to a higher center from the medical college. He highlighted the Mandal family’s financial struggles and demanded appropriate compensation from the government.
Police investigation underway
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police from Sadar Thana reached the scene and sent the body for postmortem to Sadar Hospital. The injured are currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital, while the police are conducting an investigation into the case.
