Accident in Fatuha Thana area of Patna
An unknown vehicle hit a scooty on the Patna-Bakhtiyarpur four-lane road near Bhekhua in the Fatuha Thana area of Patna on Friday morning. The impact of the collision caused the death of a BSF jawan who was riding the scooty, while another jawan was injured and sent to Patna for treatment.
Details of the Deceased and Injured Jawans
The deceased jawan was identified as Raj Kumar (42), a resident of Jara Basti village in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. The injured jawan was identified as Deepak Pradhan, son of Laxo Pradhan, who is a BSF 1 constable with number 200. The police arrived at the scene immediately and admitted the injured jawan to the hospital for treatment.
Eye-witness Account of the Incident
BSF 1 jawan Rajkumar Thapa, who was accompanying the deceased jawan, recounted that they were returning to camp from Jamalpur after completing a one-month training refresher course on Friday morning. As they reached near Bhekhua in Fatuha, an unknown vehicle hit their scooty, causing it to crash on the road.
Police Investigation and Medical Procedures
The deceased jawan Raj Kumar Chhetri lost his life on the spot, while the injured jawan Deepak Pradhan sustained serious injuries. The local villagers informed the Fatuha police, who then took both the jawans to the Fatuha Community Health Center for medical attention. The doctors declared Raj Kumar Chhetri dead and referred Deepak Pradhan to Patna for further treatment. The police took custody of the body for post-mortem after preparing a panchnama at the scene of the accident.
