Road Accident in Bihar:
Bihar’s Purnia witnessed a horrific road accident on Monday night. Former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav’s police escort vehicle collided with a police car, resulting in the death of the police car driver. Around half a dozen police officers were injured, with three of them being referred for serious injuries. Passengers in the car were also reported to be injured. The SP of Purnia visited the hospital after receiving information about the incident.
Accident Details:
According to reports, Tejashwi Yadav was on a Janadesh Yatra from Purnia to Katihar. A program was scheduled in Katihar for the former Deputy Chief Minister’s night stay. During the journey, the police escort vehicle accompanying Tejashwi Yadav’s convoy in Purnia met with the accident.
Collision and Casualties:
The accident took place near Panorama Heights in Belauri at around 11 pm, where the police escort vehicle lost control and collided with a car. The impact of the collision was so severe that the back of the car was completely damaged. The driver of the police vehicle lost his life in the accident, while about half a dozen police officers were injured, with three in critical condition. Three police officers have been referred for better treatment, and some passengers in the car were also injured.
Investigation and Future Plans:
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined. However, there are reports suggesting that the police vehicle was driving on the wrong side of the road. The police are conducting further investigations into the matter. Tejashwi Yadav is currently on a Janadesh Yatra, visiting various districts. He arrived in Katihar late at night and will be heading to Banka from Bhagalpur on Tuesday.
