Concerns over Electric Wires

There is a fear of accidents due to swinging electric wires. The people of the Delha Thana area of Gaya city are distressed by the negligence of the electricity department. Especially, the residents of Shivpuri Colony are living in fear of naked swinging wires. The locals say that electric wires often break and fall within 10 to 15 days.

Allegations of Negligence

Munni Devi, a resident of the area, claims that the electricity problem has been going on for the past 20 years. When the wires fall, electricity goes missing for two consecutive days, causing a major issue. She mentioned that they are patients of high blood pressure and the problem worsens in the absence of electricity during summers. Despite several complaints, no action has been taken so far.

Community Frustration

Ashish Kumar expressed that the issue of electricity and naked wires is troubling every resident in the locality. He personally filed a written complaint at the electricity department but to no avail. The complaint was investigated, but no results were seen even after more than six months. The departmental officials seem to be ignoring the problem of the area.

Official Response

The electricity department officials stated that work on covered wires is ongoing in the Delha Thana area. The wires will also be changed in the Shivpuri area. Once the monsoon season ends, the wires in Shivpuri will be replaced as well. Hopefully, these actions will address the concerns of the residents regarding the safety of electric wires.
