The Vaishali Superfast Express (12554) traveling from New Delhi to Saharsa in Bihar caught fire near the Itawa railway station in Uttar Pradesh. The fire started in the S-6 sleeper coach of the train, and a total of 19 passengers were affected. Among the passengers, 8 were residents of different locations in Siwan district. All the injured passengers are currently receiving treatment in various hospitals in Itawa.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations are underway. The incident caused panic among the passengers, and immediate action was taken to evacuate them from the affected coach. The railways authorities and local authorities were alerted, and firefighting efforts were initiated to control the fire.

The injured passengers were provided with medical assistance and were subsequently transferred to different hospitals for further treatment. The exact condition of the injured passengers is yet to be confirmed. The incident highlights the need for improved safety measures and regular maintenance of train coaches to prevent such accidents in the future.
