Investigation Initiated into Suspected Deaths in Gopalganj
The administration has initiated an investigation at the administrative level into the deaths of five people in the Baharampur and Bamo villages of the Bakunthpur police station area in Gopalganj district. The family members of the deceased Tinku Ram, who resides in Baharampur village, had conducted a post-mortem at the Sadar Hospital to determine the cause of death. According to sources from the Health Department, the post-mortem report has been received, but it is not clear what caused the deaths.
Autopsy Report to Reveal the Cause of Death
When asked about this matter, Civil Surgeon Dr. Bearendra Prasad stated that if a person dies due to any poisoning or consumption of a substance, the viscera is preserved during the post-mortem. The viscera examination is conducted at the Forensic Lab, which takes four to six months to issue a report. After the viscera report is received, it will be clear what caused the deaths.
The Entire Case
Between November 18 and November 20, five people died under suspicious circumstances in different villages, including Baharampur, in the Bakunthpur police station area. After the deaths, the family members alleged that the deaths were due to alcohol consumption and filed two separate FIRs. The Bihar BJP demanded an investigation by the administration. The administration has also initiated a high-level investigation into the matter. The accused, Krishna Rai from Baharampur, has been arrested and sent to jail.
