Investigation Underway to Uncover the Involvement of Liquor Mafia
In a shocking revelation, a transportation company in Jamui district of Bihar has been caught smuggling foreign liquor from West Bengal. The Sales Tax Department and the Excise Department confiscated three cartons of expensive foreign liquor hidden among other items in a truck belonging to the transport company. The seized foreign liquor is valued at over one lakh rupees. It is suspected that liquor smugglers may be using this tactic to transport and sell alcohol in Bihar.
This is the first such incident in Jamui where a transportation company’s truck has been caught smuggling foreign liquor. The consignment of foreign liquor was being transported from Kolkata to Patna. The discovery of foreign liquor hidden among other items in the truck has raised concerns among the Sales Tax Department and the Excise Department about the involvement of liquor smugglers or mafia using such techniques to circumvent the liquor ban in Bihar.
During the vehicle inspection at Kachahri Chowk, a truck belonging to Bokaro Carrying Corporation was stopped. Upon examining the documents, irregularities were found, leading to the seizure of the truck. Upon further inspection of the goods loaded in the vehicle, it was discovered that the truck also contained cartons of foreign liquor. The concerned authorities were immediately informed without delay.
Sanjeev Thakur, the Director of the Excise Department present at the scene, stated that under the direction of the District Magistrate, the truck was thoroughly inspected, and the expensive foreign liquor was seized. The driver of the truck involved in the smuggling operation has been arrested, and further actions are being taken.
बिहार के जमुई जिले में एक ट्रांसपोर्टेशन कंपनी के ट्रक में विदेशी शराब की तस्करी का मामला सामने आया है। सेल्स टैक्स डिपार्टमेंट और उत्पाद विभाग ने ट्रक पर कार्रवाई करते हुए तीन कार्टन महंगी विदेशी शराब को बरामद किया है। इस मामले में शराब तस्करों का शक है कि वे ट्रांसपोर्ट वाले ट्रक में भी शराब की तस्करी करते होंगे। यह घटना जमुई में पहली बार हुई है जहां ट्रांसपोर्ट कंपनी के ट्रक में विदेशी शराब की तस्करी का मामला सामने आया है। अधिकारियों का कहना है कि शराब तस्करों द्वारा इस तकनीक का इस्तेमाल कर बिहार में शराब बंदी को मजाक बना रहे हैं। ट्रक में शराब की तस्करी करने वाले चालक को गिरफ्तार किया गया है और आगे की कार्रवाई की जा रही है।
