Concerns Raised Over Tourist Safety

Following the incident, concerns have been raised about the safety of foreign tourists in Bodh Gaya, especially after another foreign woman was also robbed on March 10th. The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata has expressed concerns to the District Magistrate of Gaya regarding these incidents involving foreign nationals.

Increased Security Measures Recommended

The Thai Consulate has urged for enhanced security measures for foreign tourists in Bodh Gaya, suggesting regular night patrolling by police in areas with a high presence of tourists, emergency assistance, and installation of CCTV cameras in secluded areas. These measures are especially important around temples and guest houses to ensure the safety of pilgrims and tourists.
