Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi (72) passed away on Monday at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi due to cancer. Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi shared the news of his demise on social media.
Political Career Initiated at Patna University Student Union
Sushil Modi’s political career began in 1973 when he became the General Secretary of the Patna University Student Union. Interestingly, Laloo Prasad Yadav was the President at that time.
Active Role in Bihar’s Politics
Sushil Modi was actively involved in Bihar’s politics and played a crucial role in bringing BJP to power in the state. He served as the Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister in collaboration with Nitish Kumar, and effectively handled the responsibilities assigned to him.
