**Former IPS Officer Arunpati Tripathi Arrested**
In Gopalganj, Bihar, a team of ACB from Chhattisgarh has arrested former IPS officer Arunpati Tripathi. He had been absconding since January. Based on confidential information, Chhattisgarh police, with the help of Bihar police, conducted a raid in Sisai village in the Bhor Thana area of Gopalganj and arrested the former IPS officer. Gopalganj SP Swarn Prabhat has confirmed the arrest.
**Accused of Liquor Scam**
It is alleged that Prakash Pati Tripathi’s son Arunpati Tripathi, a resident of Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, who was a former Special Secretary of the Excise Department in Chhattisgarh, has been accused of a liquor scam worth 776 crores while in service. SP Swarn Prabhat stated that a case of liquor scam has been registered against Arunpati Tripathi, who was a former Special Secretary of the Excise Department in Chhattisgarh.
**Fleeing since January**
According to Chhattisgarh police, Arunpati Tripathi had been on the run since January. After spending nine months in jail, he was released and had been on the run since January after turning off his mobile phone. The ED has also filed a case against him. Since January, the Chhattisgarh police and the ED team had been searching for him. Meanwhile, the team received information that Arunpati Tripathi was hiding in Gopalganj. Subsequently, Chhattisgarh police contacted Bihar police and arrested the accused Arunpati Tripathi.
