Four Fatal Road Accidents in Godda District

In the past seven days, four people have lost their lives in road accidents in various police station areas, including the Godda district headquarters. The first incident occurred a week ago when a resident of Kharakchia in Devdand, Anil Kiskoo, died in a bike accident. The following Sunday, Prem Kumar, a resident of Thakurgangti, lost his life when a gas tanker collided with his bike in the Lalmatia police station area. The next day, two bike riders were killed in a road accident. All the deceased were from Machhia Simarda village.

Increase in Road Accident Deaths in Recent Days

There has been an increase in the number of deaths due to road accidents in recent days. Previously, the Mahagama sub-divisional area had a higher number of fatalities compared to the district headquarters. However, in the past few months, the rate of deaths in road accidents had decreased. This year, the number of deaths is lower than the previous year. The exact figures can be obtained from the department. Prior to the recent decrease, a significant number of lives were lost in road accidents from January to July.

Efforts to Ensure Road Safety

To ensure road safety, the Lalmatia police have installed speed breakers near the Lalmatia-Sidokanhu Chowk on the main road. This measure aims to control the speed of vehicles and prevent accidents caused by overspeeding. The police have also taken action against riders not wearing helmets. These measures have led to a decrease in accidents. The police are committed to taking strict action against those who drive at high speeds. The injured individuals from the recent accident are safe, and the police have seized the involved truck and sent all gas cylinders to the owner in Sheetal village for safety.

Appeal for Responsible Driving

The police officer in charge has appealed to the public, particularly those in rural areas, to drive responsibly and maintain control of their vehicles. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of oneself and others on the road. The injured individual, Aman Kiskoo, is receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bhagalpur and is out of danger. The police officer urged everyone to drive with caution and prioritize the safety of themselves and others.
