Summary: Youth duped of Rs 14 lakh on the pretext of a job in FCI
A youth from Patna was deceived by fraudsters who promised him a job in the Food Corporation of India (FCI). The miscreants went to the extent of providing fake appointment letters and service books to gain the victim’s trust. Additionally, the youth was taken to different locations for fake training. The scam came to light when the victim did not receive his salary and subsequently lodged a complaint with the cyber police station. An investigation has been initiated by the police.
The Whole Matter
The victim, Krishna Kumar, hailing from Bhagalpur, had been searching for a job after completing his 12th standard. After facing numerous rejections, he turned to online job portals and came across a website that claimed to offer employment opportunities in FCI. He obtained two mobile numbers from the website and contacted a person named Siyaram, who promised to assist him in securing a job in FCI. Siyaram, in turn, connected him with another individual from Champaran.
Fraud of Rs 14 lakhs
The victim fell prey to the fraudsters’ scheme and handed over Rs 14 lakhs. In return, he received fake appointment and training letters via mail and mobile. He was then sent to different locations, including Purnia, Katihar, and Chatra, under the pretense of training. It was only when the victim did not receive his salary after three months that he realized he had been cheated. When he approached the person from Champaran to demand the money back, he faced threats. Subsequently, he reported the incident to the police.
