Result of Gandey Vidhan Sabha By-Election Declared
The result of the by-election for the Gandey Vidhan Sabha in Jharkhand, along with the 14 Lok Sabha seats, is being declared today. Kalpana Soren, wife of Hemant Soren, is contesting from this seat, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Dilip Verma as its candidate. Kalpana Soren has mentioned Hemant Soren several times in her campaign, emphasizing the promise that if she wins, Hemant Soren will be released from jail.
High Voter Turnout in Gandey Lok Sabha Seat
A total of 3,16,214 voters were registered to vote in the Gandey Lok Sabha seat, out of which 2,17,948 exercised their right to vote. The voter turnout was 68.92%, with 68.55% men and 74.73% women participating in the electoral process.
Tight Security Measures for Vote Counting
Preparations for vote counting have been completed at the agriculture produce market committee counting center in Pachamba, Giridih. Security arrangements have been made by deploying central security forces at the counting hall, control room, and media center to ensure a smooth process.
Allegations and Counter-Allegations in the Election Campaign
In the election campaign for the Gandey by-election, Dilip Verma did not hold back in his promotion efforts. Kalpana Soren had accused the BJP of misusing central investigative agencies, while the BJP and AJSU leaders claimed that Hemant Soren engaged in corruption to earn money. The outcome of the result will determine who benefits from these mutual accusations.
