Today is Buddha Purnima along with Vaishakh Purnima. According to tradition, taking a dip in the Ganges on Buddha Purnima is considered auspicious. To avail of this benefit, devotees in various Ganges ghats in Munger district are taking a dip in the Ganges since morning. Devotees are gathering at different ghats like Kastaharni Ghat, Sohji Ghat, Lal Darwaja Ghat, Shankarpur Ghat, Shyampur Ghat, Mahuli Ghat, Tikarampur Ghat, Ghorghat Ghat, Bariyarpur Ghat, Nauvagadhi Ghat, Maniyarchak Ghat, and Tarapur Diara Panchayat Ghat for Ganga Snan.

Women are also seen performing rituals at all the Ganges ghats, leading to a large crowd gathering at these locations. The district administration has ensured that devotees face no inconvenience and no untoward incidents occur during the Ganga Snan. The Subdivisional Magistrate Shailendra Kumar has provided information about the arrangements made for this occasion.
Security Measures at Ganga Ghats
Police personnel along with magistrates have been deployed at all Ganges ghats. Two divers are also stationed at each ghat to prevent any accidents. Astrologers have highlighted the significance of Ganga Snan on Buddha Purnima, stating that it leads to spiritual enlightenment and cleansing of body, mind, and thoughts. They recommend taking a dip in the Ganges, performing prayers, and giving alms on this day for spiritual benefits.
आज बुद्ध पूर्णिमा है और वैशाख पूर्णिमा भी है। इस दिन गंगा स्नान का विशेष महत्व है और इसलिए मुंगेर जिले के विभिन्न गंगा घाटों पर लोग आस्था की डुबकी लगाने पहुंच रहे हैं। ज्योतिषाचार्यों के अनुसार आज के दिन स्नान करने से आत्म ज्ञान की प्राप्ति होती है और पापों का नाश होता है। इसलिए इस दिन गंगा स्नान कर पूजा पाठ एवं दान करना चाहिए। गंगा घाट पर लोगों की भीड़ देखने को मिल रही है, लेकिन जिला प्रशासन ने सुरक्षा के लिए व्यापक इंतजार किया है।
