Passengers travelling through Gaya Junction need to pay attention to important news regarding train schedules. The railway administration has announced a massive 45-day block at the station for redevelopment work. This block will start from February 5, 2026, and continue until March 21, 2026. During this period, train operations on platforms 2 and 3 will be suspended, leading to the cancellation and diversion of several important trains connecting Patna and Gaya.

Why has the Railway taken this decision?
The East Central Railway (ECR) is upgrading Gaya Junction under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The total cost of this project is estimated to be around Rs 300 crore. Officials want to improve passenger safety and facilities, including track maintenance, signaling upgrades, and increasing platform height. ECR Chief Public Relations Officer Saraswati Chandra confirmed that these changes are necessary for long-term benefits, even though passengers might face some trouble for a few weeks.

Several MEMU trains will now stop at Chakand station, which is 8 km away from Gaya, instead of reaching the main junction. You should check the status of your train before leaving home.
