What’s inside:

Four constables from the Railway Police are accused of robbing a gold trader on a train, leading to an investigation and an FIR being filed.

In a shocking incident, four constables from the Railway Police beat up a gold trader’s staff member on the Howrah-Bikaner Jodhpur Express train. This happened on November 20, when Dhananjay Shashwat was traveling with 1 kg of gold worth Rs 1.44 crore. The incident took place between Koderma and Gaya stations.

As the train was passing through, the constables stopped Dhananjay and searched him. Upon finding the gold, they turned aggressive, beat him up, and took away the gold biscuits. After the robbery, they threatened him and forced him to get off the train at Gaya station, instructing him to return to Howrah.

Feeling scared, Dhananjay complied and went back to Bengal where he shared his ordeal with his boss, Manoj Soni. Manoj then approached the local police and the Railway Police in Patna to report the crime and seek justice for Dhananjay.

The matter gained attention when Khagaria MP Rajesh Verma got involved, prompting the Railway Police to act. On November 29, nine days after the robbery, an FIR was filed at Gaya Railway Station. The Railway SP, Enamul Haq, has begun a thorough investigation, reviewing CCTV footage to identify the constables involved.

The FIR also lists Dhananjay as a suspect, as police are looking into whether he had any role in the robbery. The police are now on a mission to arrest the constables and recover the stolen gold, creating a buzz within the Gaya Railway Police Department.
