Jagran Correspondent, Gaya: Doctor Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Raping Minor
A doctor in Gaya has been sentenced to life imprisonment till his last breath by the court for raping a 10-year-old minor. The accused, Dr. RR Sahay, was found guilty under various sections of the POCSO Act and the IT Act by the Special Judge Asitabh Kumar of POCSO Court.
The court, after hearing both sides, handed down the following sentences: life imprisonment till the last breath under the POCSO Act, a fine of Rs 10,000 under the IT Act, and imprisonment of 6 years with a fine of five thousand rupees under the POCSO Act. All these punishments will run concurrently.
The prosecutor in the case, Kaiser Sarfuddin, revealed that the incident occurred when the girl visited the accused doctor’s clinic to get medicine. The doctor not only committed the rape but also made a video of the act and circulated it.
The informant’s advocate, Neeraj Kumar, expressed satisfaction with the sentence. The case was registered at Vishnupad police station with the number 120/2021.
