Government schools in Bihar face action as education department takes charge
Ever since K.K. Pathak, an IAS officer from Bihar, took charge of the education department, continuous action has been taken against careless government school teachers. As per Pathak’s orders, actions ranging from cutting the salaries of negligent teachers to suspensions have been carried out. Recently, the District Education Officer (DEO) of Patna, Amit Kumar, took a major step by blocking the salaries of 35 school principals in the district.
Allegations of negligence against school principals in Patna
All the school principals have been accused of not maintaining cleanliness despite receiving funds for it. The issue came to light when officials from the education department conducted surprise inspections of these schools. The inspections revealed the lack of cleanliness in the school toilets, campus, and classrooms. After seeking clarification from all the principals, and being unsatisfied with their responses, the decision to suspend their salaries was taken.
15 schools in Patna district affected by salary suspension
High School Yadupur, Bakhtiyarpur, Scientific High School Kadamkuan, BSS High School Bihata, High School Vikram, High School Mahazpura, and Kedarnath Balika High School Gardanibagh are among the 15 schools affected. In recent days, under the School Improvement Campaign, continuous inspections of schools are being conducted, not only focusing on the attendance of students but also checking the teaching and school timings. Strict action is being taken in cases of irregularities and negligence, causing unrest among the teachers.
बिहार के कड़क आईएएस अधिकारी केके पाठक ने शिक्षा विभाग की कमान अपने हाथ में लेते ही सरकारी स्कूलों के लापरवाह शिक्षकों के खिलाफ कठोर कार्रवाई की है। पटना जिले के डीईओ अमित कुमार ने इस मामले में कार्रवाई करते हुए 35 स्कूलों के प्राचार्यों के वेतन पर रोक लगा दी है। सभी प्राचार्यों पर आरोप है कि उन्होंने साफ-सफाई का ख्याल नहीं रखा है। डीईओ के मुताबिक, इन सभी स्कूलों को बतौर कंपोजिट ग्रांट के लिए धनराशि दी जाती है, लेकिन स्कूल प्रशासन ने इसमें गड़बड़ी की है। शिक्षा सुधार अभियान के तहत स्कूलों का निरीक्षण भी जारी है और गड़बड़ी और लापरवाही पाए जाने पर सीधी तरह से कार्रवाई की जा रही है।
