The State Bureau in Patna has announced that guest teachers will be appointed in government schools in Bihar due to a shortage of teachers. Headmasters of schools have been given the authority to appoint these guest teachers, and the Education Department has instructed that this system be implemented from September 1. The Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, KK Pathak, has issued an order for this and has requested the District Magistrates and Deputy Development Commissioners to personally intervene in efforts to improve education. The letter from the Education Department states that the attendance of students in schools has increased, leading to the problem of teacher shortage. The Bihar Public Service Commission has started the process of teacher recruitment, but it will take at least six months to complete the recruitment and training. Therefore, in the meantime, principals have been authorized to hire guest teachers as needed through outsourcing agencies. Pathak has also ordered the construction of additional classrooms and the hiring of local vendors for cleaning and maintenance. Additionally, there are plans to set up computer labs in 10,000 schools, with the first phase including 4,707 schools. District Magistrates and Deputy Development Commissioners have been asked to personally review the efforts to improve education and ensure that all measures are implemented by September 1.

State Bureau, Patna: The education department in Bihar has come up with a solution to the shortage of teachers in government schools. They have decided to appoint guest teachers in these schools. The headmasters of the schools have been given the authority to make these appointments. Starting from September 1, the education department will implement this system.

KK Pathak, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, issued an order for this on Saturday. He wrote a letter to all the District Magistrates and Deputy Development Commissioners, asking them to personally intervene in improving education.

In the letter, the Education Department acknowledged that efforts to increase student attendance in schools have been successful, but this has also led to some other problems, with the shortage of teachers being a major one.

The Bihar Public Service Commission has started the process of appointing teachers. However, it will take at least six months to complete the recruitment process and provide training to the teachers. Therefore, in the meantime, the principals of these schools have been authorized to hire guest teachers as an immediate arrangement.

These guest teachers will be hired through outsourcing agencies, as per the school’s requirements. District education officers have already been given instructions regarding this.

Pathak has also ordered the construction of additional classrooms in schools using prefabricated structures. Local vendors will be hired for cleaning school rooms, furniture, labs, libraries, and toilets. Computers will also be purchased for ICT labs, with plans to set up computer labs in 10,000 schools. In the first phase, 4,707 schools have been selected for this initiative.

District Magistrates and Deputy Development Commissioners have been urged to take a personal interest in improving education and to hold meetings with District Education Officers. They should thoroughly review the efforts being made and ensure that all measures are implemented by September 1.
