Bihar Weather Warning: The weather department has issued a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms in 14 districts of Bihar in the next 36 hours. According to the forecast, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in some places in the southern parts of the state and surrounding districts for the next two days. During this time, strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are also expected in the state. The weather department has advised people to stay alert during this period.
Possibility of Rain in These Districts:
In the next 36 hours, there is a possibility of extremely heavy rain with strong winds in Aurangabad, Banka, Gaya, Jamui, and Nawada, among other places. Similarly, there is a high probability of heavy rain with strong winds in Arwal, Bhagalpur, Jehanabad, Kaimur, Rohtas, Lakhisarai, Munger, Nalanda, and Sheikhpura. A yellow alert for rain has been issued in other districts of the state as well.
Rainy Conditions Across the State:
The weather department has stated that a low-pressure center over the Gangetic region of West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand has intensified monsoon activity in Bihar. As a result, active monsoon conditions are expected to prevail in Bihar for about a week. There are strong indications of continuous rainfall throughout the state during this period.
Disaster Management Alert:
In anticipation of heavy rainfall, the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority has instructed all District Magistrates to be on alert mode in their respective districts. People are advised to stay indoors in case of bad weather. In light of deaths due to collapsing roofs, toll-free numbers and emergency helplines have been provided. The department has urged people to call helpline numbers 0612-2294204, 205, and toll-free number 1070 for any assistance.
