The difficulties for Jharkhand’s Chief Minister (CM) are continuously increasing. According to media reports, on Sunday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was questioning CM Hemant Soren. During this time, 500 CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) personnel tried to enter the CM’s residence without permission. The ruling party has criticized this action by the CRPF.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha criticized the action taken by the CRPF personnel. They said it was illegal. Jharmumo Secretary Supriya Bhattacharya and Vinod Kumar Pandey issued a statement saying that during the questioning, there were 2000 security personnel deployed. Section 144 of CRPC was imposed around the CM’s residence. At that time, around 500 CRPF personnel attempted to enter the CM’s residence without permission. This is illegal and provocative. It is a conspiracy.
Jharmumo has said that they want the government to order a high-level investigation into the matter, so that legal action can be taken against the CRPF officials. If no action is taken, the party will resort to protests.
The ED has been investigating the illegal purchase and sale of 4.55 acres of land in Ranchi, which was under the control of the army. As part of this investigation, the ED had arrested Bhanu Pratap Prasad, the revenue inspector of the Badgai area in Ranchi. A large number of government documents were found in Bhanu Pratap Prasad’s residence. Several suspicious documents were also found on his mobile phone. The ED is questioning the CM regarding the verification of these documents and related facts.
The ED has summoned the CM seven times for questioning in this case. On the eighth summons, the CM has given a time of 20th January for the questioning. It should be noted that the ED had written a letter to the state police headquarters, requesting them to strengthen the security arrangements in view of the questioning scheduled for 20th January.
