The Jharkhand police have issued a notice to officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The police have asked the ED officials to participate in the investigation in the third week of March. This comes after a FIR was filed under the SC-ST Act by former Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
The ED team had reportedly reached Hemant Soren’s bungalow in Jharkhand in connection with an alleged money laundering case in a land scam. The ED had seized cash, along with a BMW car with Haryana registration number and another car, along with some important documents from the bungalow. An FIR was filed in response to the ED’s raid.
In the same case, the Ranchi police have issued a notice to ED officials to participate in the investigation in the third week of March. Earlier, the ED had filed a petition against the FIR in the Jharkhand High Court, which ordered no punitive action against the ED officials.
The incident involved ED teams conducting a raid at Hemant Soren’s Delhi residence. Following this, Soren filed a complaint against the ED officials with the Ranchi police and an FIR was registered. After the raid at Soren’s Delhi residence, the ED had seized a large amount of cash from the bungalow. The ED officials had disclosed that Rs. 36 lakhs in cash were recovered from Hemant Soren’s bungalow, along with two luxury cars.
