He has earned a profit of approximately 5.5 lakhs by growing this crop on just one acre of land in just 8 months. The demand for this crop extends beyond Bihar to states like West Bengal, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh.

समस्तीपुर के बरहौना गांव के किसान नीरज कुमार पिछले 10 सालों से वेजिटेरियन मटन (ओल) की खेती कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने एक एकड़ में फसल लगाकर महज 8 महीने में करीब 5.50 लाख की कमाई की है। इस फसल की डिमांड बिहार के अलावे बंगाल, उड़ीसा, आंध्र प्रदेश में भी है। बिहार के अलावे इसकी डिमांड दूसरे राज्यों में काफी अधिक है। किसान ने बताया कि उनकी खेती में लगभग 3-4 एकड़ में यह फसल लगती है और यह फसल लगाने से आपको अच्छी कमाई होती है। इसका बाजार में भी अच्छा रेट मिलता है और लोग इसकी खेती करने में रुचि रखते हैं। इस तरह की खेती करके किसान अच्छा मुनाफा कमा रहे हैं।
