Nalanda witnessed an incident of assault between two factions on Wednesday night. The incident took place in Tiyari village under the jurisdiction of Nurasarai police station. The assault occurred between physiotherapist Dr. Ramakant and the husband of a district council member, Kamlesh Chauhan.
Kamlesh Chauhan, husband of the district council member, stated that he was going to his driver’s place with his wife to attend the sixth celebration. During this time, there was a verbal altercation with the people present there regarding side parking of the vehicle, which escalated into a physical assault. He also alleged firing and hooliganism.
District council member, Preity Devi, mentioned that after the incident, they managed to escape somehow and took Kamlesh Chauhan, who got injured in the assault, to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for treatment. Kamlesh Chauhan stated that he was attacked with the intention of causing him harm in relation to election rivalry. He has received threatening calls in the past as well.
The officer in charge of Nurasarai police station stated that the assault occurred due to a dispute over giving way to each other’s vehicles. A complaint of assault has been received from one party, while the other party has not yet filed a complaint. The police are investigating the entire matter.
