IAS Officer Sanjeev Hans and Gulab Yadav
The decision regarding the arrest of the famous IAS officer Sanjeev Hans in Bihar is expected today. He was accused of gang rape along with Gulab Yadav and Gulab Yadav’s servant by a woman. After the allegations were made, IAS officer Sanjeev Hans had sought relief from the Patna High Court. The High Court had immediately granted relief. The hearing was ongoing based on the evidence. The bench of Justice Sandeep Kumar of the Patna High Court had scheduled the decision for August 6, keeping it safe.
Removal of Positions on August 2
Due to the fear of possible arrest by the ED, the government had removed all positions of IAS officer Sanjeev Hans. The ED has obtained several pieces of evidence related to corruption and assets exceeding income against IAS Sanjeev Hans. Not only that, the Patna police had also found the allegations of gang rape against him to be true.
Reason for Removal of Positions
The accused IAS officer Sanjeev Hans and Gulab Yadav had filed a criminal writ petition in the Patna High Court to dismiss the FIR filed at the Rupaspur police station. The hearing of the petition filed by IAS officer Sanjeev Hans took place in June. During the hearing, the victim’s advocate had filed a petition under Section 340 of the CrPC, so the court had kept the decision safe that day.
Entry of the ED
When the woman started threatening to file a primary, these two transferred 90 lakh rupees to her bank account and gifted her a luxury car to keep her quiet and change her statement. The police investigation revealed the case of financial transactions, which led to the entry of the ED in the case. As soon as the ED entered, raids began at Sanjeev Hans’ addresses. He was questioned and evidence of all crimes started to gather. The ED has all the evidence now, and the government has removed all positions and rights of IAS officer Sanjeev Hans.
