मंदिर निर्माता राधेश्याम सिन्हा के बेटे ऋतेश ने बताया कि उनके पिता पहले एनसीसी प्रशिक्षक के रूप में काम करते थे। उसके बाद उन्होंने दीघा आईआईटी में प्रशिक्षक के रूप में काम किया। उनकी इच्छा थी कि अगर उन्होंने 25 बार अमरनाथ यात्रा पूरी की तो वह अमरनाथ मंदिर बनवाएंगे। ऋतेश बताता है कि उनके पिता ने समूहों में 25 बार अमरनाथ मंदिर जाने का अनुभव किया था। उनकी इच्छा पूरी होने के बाद, उन्होंने यह मंदिर बनवाया।
ऋतेश बताता है कि पिता के नाम पटना के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में 3-4 घर और जमीन थी। मंदिर बनाने के लिए, धीरे-धीरे सभी संपत्ति को बेच दिया गया। ऋतेश बताता है कि इसी कारण पिता राधेश्याम सिन्हा ने पत्थर पर लिखा है कि उन्होंने अपने खून और पसीने से यह मंदिर बनवाया है। जिसमें उनके परिवार के सदस्यों का त्याग भी शामिल है।
बातचीत के दौरान, बेटे ऋतेश ने बताया कि मंदिर के निर्माण के लिए पैसों की कमी थी, इसलिए पिता ने निर्माण के लिए काजीपुर में जहां वे रह रहे थे, घर बेचने का फैसला किया। उस पांच मंजिले वाले घर के खरीदार भी मिल गए। लेकिन खरीदार ने पिता से अनुरोध किया कि पंजीकरण के लिए मुंबई जाएं। 1998 में, मुंबई जाते समय राधेश्याम सिन्हा को नाशिक स्टेशन पर ब्रेन स्ट्रोक हुआ और वहां के अस्पताल में मर गए। उनके पोस्टमार्टम शरीर को कठिनाई से पटना तक पहुंचाया जा सका। ऋतेश इसे बताते हुए भावुक हो जाते हैं।
