Admission Test for IITs Conducted Across the Country
The JEE Advanced exam for admission to 23 IITs across the country was conducted on Sunday. The exam took place peacefully at 21 centers in the city, with nearly 90% of examinees present. Students reported that the math questions were challenging, while some physics questions were difficult. The results are expected to be released by June 9th, and those who rank at the top will secure admission to the IITs.
Lack of AC and Fans at Exam Centers Causes Disruption
At the City Craze exam center on Kankarbagh Main Road in Patna, students and parents caused a commotion due to the lack of AC, fans, or coolers at the center. This led to student dissatisfaction and discomfort during the exam. Many felt mentally distressed due to the heat, which affected their performance. The absence of cooling facilities also impacted the concentration of examinees during the test.
Math and Physics Pose Challenges for Students
While most questions in the exam were considered easy, students found the math and physics sections to be particularly challenging. Some students struggled with math questions, while others found physics questions to be difficult. Overall, the math and physics sections proved to be tough for most examinees, with some also finding chemistry questions to be tricky. The exam was rigorous, with students having to tackle several complex problems.
High Turnout and Tensions at Exam Centers
A large crowd of students and parents gathered at the exam centers from early morning, causing tension and chaos. The IIT Madras had instructed examinees to arrive nearly two hours before the scheduled time. Private engineering colleges and institutes set up camps at each center for promotional activities. The exam created stress not only for students but also for their parents, who were equally anxious about the outcome. Students can raise objections to the answer key until June 3rd, with results expected to be announced by June 9th.
