JEE Success Story: The Journey of Shitikanth Kashyap
If passion turns into obsession, no one can stop anything from getting accomplished. This is the story of IIT-JEE topper Shitikanth Kashyap, who made it to the top rank in the IIT-JEE exam in 2008. For aspiring engineers, cracking the JEE Main and Advanced exams is considered a gateway to studying engineering in IITs. Without clearing these exams, the dream of studying here cannot be fulfilled. Despite the participation of lakhs of students in the IIT-JEE exam every year, only a few manage to pass it, making achieving rank 1 in this exam equivalent to making a dream come true.
Shitikanth Kashyap’s Journey to Success
Shitikanth Kashyap secured the top rank in the IIT-JEE exam in 2008 after passing his Class 10 exam with 93% and Class 12 exam with 91% from St. Michael’s High School in Patna. He then spent two years preparing for the IIT-JEE in Kota, Rajasthan. Coming from a family of doctors, Shitikanth always had a leaning towards physics since childhood. After completing his studies in IIT Kanpur, he pursued a PhD in quantum computing.
Life After Achieving Rank 1 in JEE
After securing the top rank in the IIT-JEE exam, Shitikanth Kashyap completed his graduation in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur and went on to earn a PhD in quantum computing from the University of Waterloo in Canada. Though his current pursuits are not known, his research work in Laboratory D’Informatique Algorithmique: Fondements et Applications in Paris is evident from his Facebook profile. Shitikanth’s journey from a small town to achieving great heights serves as an inspiration for many aspiring engineers.
