Imamganj Police Administration in Gaya, Bihar is on high alert ahead of a one-day nationwide strike called by the banned Naxalite organization, CPI (Maoist), on September 22nd. The local police, along with district police and central forces, have implemented strict security measures in the Imamganj police sub-division area. In response to the strike, the district police and CRPF personnel are conducting search operations in the jungle areas. The police have assured the local residents of their safety and urged them to carry on with their daily activities without any fear or inconvenience.

The bandh (strike) called by the CPI (Maoist) will have a significant impact in Bihar and Jharkhand. According to the spokesperson of the South Sub-Zonal Bureau of the CPI (Maoist), the strike will continue till the last day of the Daman Virodhi Saptah (Anti-Repression Week) from September 16th to 22nd. The entire region, including the police administration and various agencies, is on high alert in response to the strike. There has been an increase in Naxalite activities in the Imamganj police sub-division area.

In the past two days, security forces have recovered four IEDs from different locations in the jungles near the Gaya-Aurangabad border. The fear of Naxalites is still prevalent among the rural population, leading to the closure of commercial establishments in Naxal-affected areas. The impact of the Naxal bandh is being observed in Sherghati sub-division, including Dumaria, Maigra, Imamganj, and Banka Bazaar, among other areas.
