Most students who pass the 12th board exams in the Math subject dream of getting admission in IITs. To secure admission in IITs, it is essential to pass the JEE exam. With the release of JEE Advanced 2024 results, JoSAA counseling has begun, through which students are allocated seats in IITs. The number of seats in IITs has been increased in the JoSAA Seat Matrix.
Increased Seats in IITs
The increase in seats in the top 10 IITs of the country is expected to benefit students. The JoSAA Mock Seat Allotment Result will be released on June 17, 2024. Last year, there were 17,385 seats in the 23 IITs in the country, but this year, 355 seats are being added. This means that admissions will be granted on a total of 17,740 seats in 2024.

Out of the 23 IITs, only 10 have seen an increase in the number of seats this year. The total number of seats in IITs in India is 17,740. The distribution of seats in each IIT can be seen below, with a total of 720 seats in IIT Bombay, 189 seats in IIT Kharagpur, and various other numbers in different IITs across the country.
