Controversy over the Name:
BJP MP Sushil Kumar Modi has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the usage of the names India and Bharat. He stated that if the name India has been used for 75 years, there should be no objection if it is now being pronounced as Bharat. He believes that the word India is associated with slavery, while Bharat reflects the eternal culture. Sushil Modi emphasized that saying ‘India Mata Ki Jai’ is not the same as saying ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
Unnecessary Objections:
Sushil Modi criticized Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish Kumar, and Rahul Gandhi for objecting to the usage of the name India. He accused them of being against Sanatan culture and Hindu religion. The MP challenged them to say ‘India Mata ki Jai’ if they have the courage. He clarified that those who prefer to use the name India are not prohibited from doing so, but they may be considered traitors by some.
No Need for Objections:
The BJP MP pointed out that if the Prime Minister of India has used the word Bharat on an invitation letter, there is no reason for objections. He stated that there is no effort to change the name, and people are free to use either India or Bharat. Sushil Modi also highlighted that the national anthem uses the word Bharat, not India.
Opposition to Narendra Modi:
Sushil Kumar Modi criticized the Grand Alliance for supporting Udhayanidhi Stalin’s alleged abuse of Sanatan Dharma in Tamil Nadu. He claimed that these individuals oppose every action taken by Narendra Modi and stand against everything he does.
When asked about the Grand Alliance using the name India, Sushil Kumar Modi stated that there is no problem with their choice, and they are free to use whichever name they prefer.

भारतीय जनता पार्टी के सांसद सुशील कुमार मोदी ने कहा है कि देश में भारत और इंडिया के नाम पर चल रही विवाद पर कहा है कि 75 सालों से भारत का नाम उच्चारित हो रहा है, अगर अब भारत के रूप में उच्चारण किया जा रहा है तो इसमें क्या आपत्ति है? भारत शब्द को गुलामी का प्रतीक माना जाता है और भारत में शाश्वत संस्कृति का प्रतिबिंब है। भारत माता की जय नहीं, भारत माता की जय नहीं।
सुशील मोदी ने कहा कि अगर लालू प्रसाद यादव, नीतीश कुमार और राहुल गांधी में हौसला हो तो वे भारत माता की जय दिखाएं। ये लोग बेकार में आपत्ति कर रहे हैं। ये लोग सनातन संस्कृति और हिन्दू धर्म के खिलाफ हैं। सांसद ने कहा कि अगर ललन सिंह और नीतीश कुमार को भारत का नाम उच्चारित करना है तो उन्हें रोका नहीं जाएगा। थोड़ा सा यह कि जो लोग भारत का नाम उच्चारित करेंगे, उन्हें देशद्रोही माना जाएगा।
भाजपा सांसद ने यह भी कहा कि अगर भारत के प्रधानमंत्री ने की-20 सबमिशन में आमंत्रण पत्र पर शब्द भारत लिखा है तो इन लोगों को आपत्ति करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है, नाम बदलने का कोई प्रयास नहीं हो रहा है। जो लोग भारत बुलाना चाहते हैं, वे भारत बुला सकते हैं और जो लोग इंडिया बुलाना चाहते हैं, वे इंडिया बुला सकते हैं। हमारे जन गण में राष्ट्रीय गान में भी शब्द भारत का उपयोग किया गया है, शब्द इंडिया का उपयोग नहीं हुआ है।
सुशील कुमार मोदी ने यह भी कहा कि तमिलनाडु में उदयनिधि स्टालिन ने सनातन धर्म का अपमान किया है, वहां के महागठबंधन के लोग उसके साथ खड़े दिखाई देते हैं। उनकी विरोधाभासी किसी भी कार्य के खिलाफ है, और ये लोग हर एक चीज़ का विरोध करते हैं।
सुशील कुमार मोदी से पूछा गया कि महागठबंधन का नाम इंडिया रखा गया है, इसलिए इन लोगों को चिंता हो रही है। मोदी ने कहा कि कोई समस्या नहीं है, वह जो चाहता है, वह रख सकता है और हमें इसमें कोई आपत्ति नहीं है।
