Introduction to Indian Air Force Technical College

About Indian Air Force Technical College

Initially named as Technical Training College (TTC), the college was later renamed AFTC on 1st January 1957. Located on Subroto Mukherjee Road in Jalahalli West, Bangalore, AFTC offers training in Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics), Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical), Management Studies, Advanced Technology (FOMEST) and General Service Training. Candidates seeking admission to AFTC need to pass the AFCAT exam conducted by the Indian Air Force twice a year. The selection process includes a written exam and an SSB interview.

Admission Criteria and Eligibility

Candidates applying to Indian Air Force Technical College must be between 20 to 26 years old for the technical branch of AFCAT. They should also be unmarried at the time of course commencement, as marriage during training is not permitted. If a candidate gets married during the training period, they will be discharged from service.
