This article discusses the new cancellation rules for Vande Bharat Sleeper Train tickets introduced by Indian Railways.
Indian Railways has introduced new rules for passengers traveling on the recently launched Vande Bharat Sleeper trains. These rules focus on ticket cancellation and are stricter than what was previously in place for other train services.
According to the latest guidelines, if you cancel a confirmed ticket for the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, there will be a cancellation fee. If you cancel anytime after booking, 25% of your ticket fare will be deducted. If you cancel between 72 hours and 8 hours before the train’s departure, you will lose 50% of the ticket cost.
No refund will be given if you cancel your ticket less than 8 hours before the scheduled departure. This change is because the reservation chart is now prepared 8 hours prior to the train leaving, compared to the previous 4 hours. These new rules are stricter compared to other trains, including the Vande Bharat Chair Car trains.
Only confirmed tickets will be issued for these sleeper trains, and there won’t be any RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) system. For comparison, the current rules for other trains allow for a fixed deduction based on the class of travel if canceled 48 hours before the journey.
The minimum fare for traveling on Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be applicable only for distances of 400 kilometers or more. Special quotas for women, senior citizens, disabled passengers, and duty pass holders will be available, but no other types of reservations will apply.

- No refunds for cancellations made less than 8 hours before the train leaves.
