At these stations, staff will weigh and measure the size of passengers’ luggage. If your luggage is too heavy or too big, you will have to pay extra charges.
To make this happen, electronic luggage checking machines will be installed at various points in the stations. For example, at Patna Junction, there will be five checking points. Similar setups will be made at Danapur and other stations. If someone travels with more luggage than allowed and hasn’t paid for it in advance, they will face fines.
According to the new rules, passengers can be fined up to six times the normal charges if their luggage is overweight. Railway staff will be present at the luggage machines to help. Passengers can only enter the platform after their luggage is checked. This rule applies not just when entering but also when leaving the platform.
