Father-Son Injured in Hospital
A father and son were admitted to the district hospital for treatment after being attacked with sticks by a group of people over a land dispute in the Aadhapur Ward 11 Mohalla of Karpoorigram police station area in Samastipur on Thursday night.
Incident Details
Tulsi Mahato, the injured father, revealed that he was involved in a dispute over a three-acre piece of land with his fellow villager Kundan Kumar. When Mahato found out that Kumar and others were preparing to build a boundary wall on the disputed land late in the evening, he protested. This led to a physical altercation, during which Mahato and his son Chandan Kumar were attacked with sticks by Kumar and his associates.
Police Intervention
Upon hearing the commotion, Chandan Kumar rushed to the scene to help his father, but he too was injured in the attack. The villagers intervened and calmed the situation down, while also informing the police. A team from the emergency 112 number arrived at the scene, but the accused had already fled. The injured father and son were later shifted to the district hospital for treatment.
Police Investigation
The incident of violence over a land dispute has been reported to the local police station. Sanjay Kumar Singh, the head of the Karpoorigram police station, confirmed that an investigation is underway. The victims have provided a statement naming several individuals involved in the attack, and the police are working to apprehend the suspects for further legal action.
