Introduction:
The introduction of Vande Bharat Express trains marked the beginning of modernization in the Indian Railways. These trains, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and semi-high speed, were highly appreciated by the people. However, the expensive fares of Vande Bharat Express made it difficult for lower-income individuals to travel. In order to address the needs of the common people, the Indian Railways is planning to introduce a new initiative by starting Amrit Bharat Express trains after Vande Bharat Express.
Amrit Bharat Express with Modern Amenities:
Amrit Bharat Express, consisting of 22 coaches, will have sleeper and general coaches instead of AC coaches like Vande Bharat Express. However, the amenities in Amrit Bharat Express will be as modern as Vande Bharat Express. The train will be equipped with CCTV cameras, modern toilets, sensor-based water taps, and announcement systems similar to the metro.
Affordable Fares for the Common People:
The plan for Amrit Bharat Express is to keep the fares lower than regular trains, just like Vande Bharat Express, so that the common people can avail the modern facilities provided by the railways.
Route of Amrit Bharat Express:
The first Amrit Bharat Express will start from Bihar and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The train will connect the birthplace of Mata Sita to the birthplace of Lord Ram. The inauguration of the train is scheduled on the day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Ayodhya for the darshan of Ram Lalla. The train will travel from Darbhanga to Delhi via Ayodhya. Apart from the five new Vande Bharat Express trains, the Prime Minister will also flag off the first Amrit Bharat Express from Darbhanga to Ayodhya, which will then proceed to Delhi. Another Amrit Bharat Express will travel from Malda to Bangalore.
