पिता के निधन के बाद, स्वीटी ने काम करते हुए UPSC की तैयारी की और IPS बन गईं। उन्होंने अखिल भारतीय 187 रैंक के साथ UPSC सिविल सेवा परीक्षा को साफ किया। वर्तमान में वह बिहार के औरंगाबाद जिले में ASP के पद पर तैनात हैं।
IPS स्वीटी सहरावत ने अपने पिता के सपने को पूरा करने के लिए डिज़ाइन इंजीनियर की नौकरी छोड़ी और UPSC की तैयारी शुरू की। वर्तमान में वह IPS बनकर देश की सेवा कर रही हैं। उनके भाई भी CISF में सब इंस्पेक्टर हैं।
