Devendra Chandra Thakur is currently the Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council. It should be noted that the Sitamarhi seat is currently held by JD(U), where Sunil Kumar Pintu is the MP. However, he has recently been seen speaking in support of the BJP. Devendra Chandra Thakur thanked the Chief Minister for announcing his candidature from Sitamarhi. On the other hand, the announcement of the JD(U) candidate for the Sitamarhi seat by Nitish Kumar has made the situation of the opposition alliance in Bihar clear.
