Jharkhand Budget for 2024-25

Finance Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon presented a budget of Rs 1,28,900 crores for the year 2024-25 in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly on Tuesday. This is the first budget of the Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s government. The budget speech started with a focus on water, forest, and land consciousness, aiming to fulfill the aspirations of the poor, tribals, dalits, backward classes, minorities, youth, women, elderly, workers, and farmers. The budget emphasizes education, irrigation, farmer loan waivers, affordable housing for the poor, and rural development.

Highlights of the Budget

This time, a children’s budget has been prepared based on the plans of departments related to the outcome budget. The goal is to make concerted efforts for the holistic development of children. The Finance Minister stated that the budget for the upcoming year is 10.7% higher compared to the current fiscal year. The government had presented a budget of Rs 1,16,418 crores in the year 2023-24.

Key Initiatives

The government’s ambitious plan for affordable housing, called Abua Awas, aims to benefit approximately 4.50 lakh families annually from the financial year 2024-25 to 2027-28. A provision of Rs 4,831.83 crores has been made for this initiative. The Jharkhand Agriculture Loan Waiver Scheme has increased the loan waiver limit in the financial year 2024-25 to Rs 2 lakhs from Rs 50,000, and also includes NPAs account holder farmers under this scheme.

Educational Reforms and Budget Allocations

Plans to operate 325 block-level leader schools from the academic year 2024-25 have been set. Additionally, 4,036 panchayat-level schools will be developed as model schools in the next two years. Nineteen new colleges will be opened for mother tongue-based education. An exclusive children’s budget has been presented with an allocation of Rs 8,866.69 crores for inclusive child development and implementing schemes related to children.

झारखंड विधानसभा में वित्त मंत्री डॉ. रामेश्वर उरांव ने 2024-25 के लिए 1,28,900 करोड़ रुपये का बजट पेश किया। इस बजट में गरीबों, आदिवासियों, दलितों, पिछड़ों, महिलाओं, युवाओं, मजदूरों और किसानों की आकांक्षाओं को पूरा करने के लिए ध्यान दिया गया है। बजट में पढ़ई, सिंचाई, ग्रामीण विकास, किसानों की ऋण माफी और अबुआ आवास जैसे कई महत्वपूर्ण क्षेत्रों पर ध्यान दिया गया है। इसके साथ ही, झारखंड को 2030 तक 10 ट्रिलियन रुपये की अर्थव्यवस्था बनाने का लक्ष्य भी रखा गया है। बजट पर CM चंपाई सोरेन ने विश्वास जताया कि यह बजट राज्य के सभी वर्गों के लिए बेहतर भविष्य की संरचना बनाएगा।
