Jharkhand government has decided to provide additional financial relief to drought-affected farmers by giving them Rs 117 per quintal above the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy crop in the year 2023-24. This decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday.
The central government has set the MSP for common paddy at Rs 2,183 per quintal this year, which was Rs 2,040 per quintal in the previous season. The MSP for Grade A paddy has been set at Rs 2,203 per quintal, which was Rs 2,060 per quintal in the previous season.
Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadhel said that with this decision of the cabinet, farmers in Jharkhand will receive Rs 2,300 for selling one quintal of paddy. It is worth mentioning that the Jharkhand government has set a target of purchasing six lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers in 2023-24. Under this, the state government will purchase 2.3 lakh metric tonnes of paddy for the Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme and the remaining 3.7 lakh metric tonnes will be purchased for the central pool.
झारखंड सरकार ने सूखा प्रभावित किसानों की मदद के लिए धान की फसल के लिए न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य से 117 रुपये प्रति क्विंटल अतिरिक्त पैसे देने का फैसला किया है। इससे किसानों को धान बेचने पर 2,300 रुपये मिलेंगे। झारखंड सरकार का लक्ष्य है कि 2023-24 में सरकार 2.3 लाख मीट्रिक टन धान खरीदे और बाकी 3.7 लाख मीट्रिक टन धान केंद्रीय पूल के लिए खरीदे।
