**Jharkhand High Court Stays Hearing on Appeal Against Single Bench Decision**
The Jharkhand High Court has postponed the hearing on the appeal filed against a single bench decision in the case of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren’s disproportionate assets. The matter of excess assets is pending before the Lokpal.
**Lokpal Orders Preliminary Inquiry Against Shibu Soren**
After a complaint by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, the Lokpal had ordered the CBI to initiate a preliminary inquiry against Soren to determine if the case merits further investigation. The hearing of this case has been adjourned to February 20.
**Challenges to Lokpal’s Action**
The single bench previously stated that the petition and complaint challenging Lokpal’s action against Shibu Soren were filed prematurely. The court had to determine if there was sufficient material to proceed with the case.
**Allegations Against Shibu Soren**
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey lodged a complaint against Shibu Soren in August 2020, alleging misuse of government funds and corruption, claiming that Soren and his family had acquired substantial wealth through corrupt practices.
झारखंड हाईकोर्ट ने झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा (जेएमएम) के प्रमुख शिबू सोरेन की आय से अधिक संपत्ति मामले में एकल पीठ के निर्णय के खिलाफ दायर अपील पर सुनवाई 20 फरवरी के लिए स्थगित कर दी। भाजपा सांसद निशिकांत दूबे की शिकायत के बाद लोकपाल ने सीबीआई को सोरेन के खिलाफ यह पता लगाने के लिए प्रारंभिक जांच के आदेश दिए थे। इस मामले में लोकपाल को देखना था कि इस मामले में आगे की कार्यवाही करने के लिए पर्याप्त सामग्री है या नहीं।
