ED Informs Court about Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam’s Involvement
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has informed the court that all the cash found in the raid belongs to Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam. The cash found at the residence of the personal assistant of his PS Sanjeev Lal is also linked to Alam. In a money laundering case, Alamgir Alam was sent on a 10-day remand by the ED, which was later extended to six days by the court.
ED Raids PS Sanjeev Kumar Lal’s Assistant’s Home
On 6th May, the ED conducted a massive raid at the home of the domestic assistant of PS Sanjeev Kumar Lal, the Rural Development Minister of Jharkhand. The huge stack of notes found at the residence left everyone stunned. It was later revealed that over 30 crore rupees were recovered from the minister’s PS’s assistant’s home.
ED Arrests Minister Alamgir Alam in Money Laundering Case
After arresting the minister’s private secretary Sanjeev Kumar Lal and his assistant Jahangir, the ED also apprehended Minister Alamgir Alam on 15th May. The ED had presented him in court for remand in connection with the money laundering case.
Allegations of Money Laundering Made Against Alamgir Alam
Additional Solicitor General Anil Kumar stated that based on the statements of all involved in the raid, it was conveyed to the court that the cash found at the PS’s staff member’s home constitutes an offense of money laundering against Alamgir Alam. All the money belongs to him. Alamgir Alam will be sent to the Birsa Munda Central Jail and will be interrogated by the ED on Friday. The ED mentioned that the minister had a 1.5% stake in the rural development contracts.
झारखंड के मंत्री आलमगीर आलम की मुश्किलें कम नहीं हो रही हैं। ईडी ने अदालत को बताया है कि जो कैश मंत्री के पीएस संजीव लाल के नौकर के घर से मिले हैं वो सब आलमगीर आलम के हैं। मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग के मामले में उन्हें 10 दिनों की रिमांड पर भेजे जाने की गुहार अदालत से लगाई गई है। शुक्रवार को ईडी उनसे पूछताछ शुरू करेगी। आलमगीर आलम को बिरसा मुंडा केंद्रीय कारा कोटवार भेज दिया जाएगा।
