Jharkhand police constable Ramdev Mahato and two others were killed in a shootout with three criminals on motorcycles in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. According to officials, the criminals first opened fire on a person named Sajjad on the road. When a mobile police patrol team attempted to stop them, they also fired shots, seriously injuring constable Ramdev Mahato. Other police personnel chased the criminals and apprehended one of them, seizing weapons from his possession. Sajjad was declared dead upon reaching Tata Main Hospital, while Mahato succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Senior police superintendent Kishor Kausal stated that a man killed in the shootout was also involved in previous criminal activities and had been to jail before.
