Jharkhand is currently experiencing a cold wave, with the minimum temperature in the capital city of Ranchi reaching 7 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. This is about 4.4 degrees lower compared to the temperature recorded 48 hours ago. On January 21, the minimum temperature in Ranchi was 11.4 degrees Celsius. The weather in Ranchi was sunny in the morning on Tuesday, but suddenly turned cold in the afternoon due to the appearance of clouds in the sky. The maximum temperature has also decreased in Ranchi.
The average minimum temperature in various districts of Jharkhand on Tuesday was around 6 to 7 degrees Celsius. According to the weather department, the state is expected to have cloudy skies in the next 24 hours, leading to continued cold weather during the day. However, the temperature may drop further at night as the clouds start to clear.
Chatra district in Jharkhand recorded the lowest temperature at 3.7 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. It was followed by Gumla, where the minimum temperature was 4.5 degrees Celsius. Most cities in the state recorded a minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius or lower.
Jharkhand is currently experiencing cloudy skies due to a cyclonic circulation. According to the weather department, a cyclonic circulation formed in the southern parts of Chhattisgarh and Telangana in the past 24 hours, which is now affecting the Marathwada region and its surrounding areas. This is causing the clouds to appear. The impact of this system is expected to continue for the next 24 hours, with partial clouds in various districts after the morning fog.
Weather scientist Abhishek Anand stated, “Cloudy skies will continue in Jharkhand for the next 24 hours. However, there is no possibility of rainfall due to this system. Once the clouds start to clear in the next few days, the cold weather will intensify.”
