Jharkhand is currently experiencing a severe cold wave, with the Indian Meteorological Centre in Ranchi issuing a yellow alert for the state until January 19th. This alert predicts dense fog in the northern parts of the state and other areas. Specifically, the districts of Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Koderma, Latehar, and Lohardaga will be heavily affected. Additionally, there is a possibility of light rain in certain areas such as Ranchi, Bokaro, Jamshedpur, and Sahibganj on January 17th and 18th.
The temperature continues to drop in Jharkhand, with Monday seeing extremely cold temperatures in all districts, especially in western Jharkhand. The lowest temperature recorded was 3.3 degrees Celsius in Gumla. Minimum temperatures are consistently decreasing in all districts of the state.
The city of Ranchi is also experiencing a significant drop in temperature, with the minimum temperature reaching 6.4 degrees Celsius. The cold wave is intensifying in the city.
The cold weather has also affected flight operations, causing delays. Flights from Delhi to Ranchi by IndiGo and Air India Express were delayed by several hours. The IndiGo flight from Chennai to Ranchi was also delayed. Similarly, the Air India Express flight from Bengaluru to Ranchi arrived much later than scheduled. Due to the foggy conditions, the IndiGo flight from Delhi to Ranchi and the IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Ranchi were cancelled at night.
In 23 districts, the temperature has dropped below 10 degrees Celsius. Some of the lowest temperatures recorded include 1.2 degrees Celsius in Chatra, 3.3 degrees Celsius in Gumla, 3.8 degrees Celsius in Palamu, and 4.1 degrees Celsius in Khunti. Ranchi recorded a minimum temperature of 6.4 degrees Celsius.
झारखंड में ठंड का प्रकोप बढ़ रहा है और यहां के जिलों में घने कोहरे की संभावना है। भारतीय मौसम विज्ञान केंद्र ने राज्य के लिए 19 जनवरी तक के लिए येलो अलर्ट जारी किया है। इससे पलामू, गढ़वा, चतरा, कोडरमा, लातेहार और लोहरदगा जिले विशेष रूप से प्रभावित रहेंगे। आगामी दिनों में कुछ इलाकों में हल्की बारिश की संभावना भी है। राज्य में तापमान लगातार गिर रहा है और कई विमान सेवाएं भी प्रभावित हो रही हैं। इस दौरान रांची में ठंड की चपेट मजबूती से महसूस हो रही है। झारखंड के कई जिलों में न्यूनतम तापमान 10 डिग्री सेल्सियस से भी कम हो रहा है।
