Justice Arvind Chandel Transferred to Patna High Court

Justice Arvind Chandel from Chhattisgarh High Court has been transferred to Patna High Court as per the proposal of the Supreme Court’s collegium. The transfer order was issued by the central government after the collegium of 5 senior judges, led by Chief Justice Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud, agreed to the transfer.

The transfer order for Justice Arvind Chandel was issued by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Law and Justice, Jagnnath Shrinivasan. The order stated that the transfer was done with the consent of the President and Chief Justice after utilizing the powers granted in the Constitution.

Justice Chandel’s Career and Transfer Proposal

Justice Arvind Singh Chandel was born on September 1, 1963, in Bilaspur. He started his judicial service as a Civil Judge Class 2 in Madhya Pradesh and later served in various positions before becoming a permanent judge in 2019. The proposal to transfer him was initially rejected by the collegium, but eventually, he was transferred to Patna High Court from Chhattisgarh High Court.

Background and Professional Journey of Justice Chandel

Justice Arvind Singh Chandel has a background in law and has served in different judicial roles before his transfer to Patna High Court. His brother, Ajay Singh, has also served as an IAS officer and Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh. Justice Chandel’s transfer reflects the administrative decisions made at the highest levels of the judiciary in India.

छत्तीसगढ़ हाईकोर्ट के जस्टिस अरविंद चंदेल का पटना हाईकोर्ट में तबादला हो गया है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट के कॉलेजियम ने उनका तबादला आदेश जारी किया है, जिसके बाद उन्होंने पटना हाईकोर्ट में सेवाएं शुरू करने का आग्रह किया है। उनके तबादले के संदर्भ में छत्तीसगढ़ हाईकोर्ट के चीफ जस्टिस डॉ डीवाई चंद्रचूड़ की अध्यक्षता में गठित 5 वरिष्ठ जजों की कॉलेजियम ने जस्टिस अरविंद चंदेल का तबादला करने के लिए उनसे सहमति मांगी थी। इसके बाद केंद्र सरकार ने उनके तबादले का आदेश जारी किया है।
