Local residents in Manika block of Koili village in Latehar district found a large number of dead bats under a tree, sparking panic in the area. The forest department has issued an appeal to refrain from touching or coming in contact with the dead bats, as it could be dangerous. The District Forest Officer has alerted the departmental staff and urged the public to avoid handling the dead bats.

Prior to this, in Sundipur village in Garhwa, some villagers took a dead bat home and consumed it, leading to concerns about a possible outbreak. A health department team visited the village to examine 27 individuals who had eaten the bat. The situation is being closely monitored to prevent any health hazards.
